Arts

West Covina High School boasts a robust Fine Arts Department with disciplines spanning the full range of artistic expressions. Our department is broken into four main

Applied Arts (Architectural Design & Cullinary)

Digital Arts (Digital Media & Photography)

Performing Arts (Dance, Instrumental Music, Theatre, Vocal Music)

Visual Arts (Art & Ceramics)

With each of these disciplines our teachers are able to integrate their real-world experience into the academic environment thus preparing our students to engage with many different professional experiences both during high school and beyond.

In addition, we are are the only local high school to offer a full Performing Arts Academy on a comprehensive high school campus. The West Covina High School Performing Arts Academy prepares a diverse community of aspiring artists to be successful in their future college and professional careers. Our philosophy is to train the whole performer by developing an understanding and skill set of the four major performing arts pillars (Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Theatre, and Dance) alongside an in-depth study of their chosen concentration. We believe our students should experience rigorous academics as well as the communal activities of a comprehensive high school while being able to hone their artistic craft. We aim to cultivate the next generation of well-rounded artists that will shape the future of the performing arts industry.
